Fiat 500 Abarth Essesse: First Official Images

Fiat 500 Abarth Essesse has broken loose ahead of schedule after these first images surfaced on the net and we have what appears to be the Mini Cooper S' most potent threat to date. No official details have been released but we believe a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine is hiding beneath its posterior, probably possessing in the region of 170 ponies, just above the 160hp Fiat 500 Abarth Opening Edition.

2011 Alfa Romeo Giulia (159 replacement)

Alfa Romeo will revive the Giulia nameplate for the successor to its 159 sedan, according to rumors circulating in the European press. While there have been conflicting reports regarding which platform the car will use, sources tell us Alfa is developing a suitable RWD chassis with the help of Maserati.

Rumors about Alfa sticking with a front-wheel-drive layout seem largely unfounded. In October, Renzo Barbirato, Alfa Romeo’s marketing manager, stated the entry-level MiTo is the only Alfa Romeo model that will not make the switch to rear-wheel drive in the coming years.

It’s not known if the new 159/Giulia will be among the Alfa models bound for U.S. consumption, but it seems like a suitable candidate. The 8C Competizione and 8C Spider have been confirmed for the North American market, and the CXover sport utility vehicle is a safe bet.

The world’s most popular hybrid car, the Toyota Prius, is getting a new look, and here are the first photos.
The new Prius is longer and wider resulting in increased rear passenger space and a larger boot. As a result, the Prius may be extended into a range of vehicles. Toyota USA President, Jim Lentz, previously mentioned a two-door coupe, wagon or a commuter car may join the five-door hatchback.
Insiders are talking about a change from NiMh batteries in favor of lighter and smaller Li-ion batteries. The smaller Li-ion batteries will allow for more storage space but also make the Prius faster as well.
